About Us

Manasse, Slaiby & Leard, LLP was founded in 1979. With offices in Torrington and Kent, Connecticut, the firm covers all of Litchfield County and surrounding areas. Every attorney in the firm has more than 25 years experience in the private practice of law, and has successfully represented thousands of clients. This wealth of experience enables our clients to receive highly skilled legal services. Unlike a large law firm, where your case may be handed off to several other attorneys and staff whom you have never met, our small firm size means that you will receive personal service from people who are familiar with you and your case.

In the field of workers’ compensation law, Manasse, Slaiby & Leard, LLP has one of the oldest and largest practices in Litchfield County. Attorney Leard is certified as a specialist in workers’ compensation law by the Connecticut Bar Association. He is the only certified workers’ compensation specialist in Litchfield County. In the field of real estate law, Attorneys Manasse and Slaiby have a combined experience of over 60 years representing homeowners (including persons new to the area and part-time residents), developers and financing institutions in residential and commercial closings and zoning matters. Attorney Slaiby has been helping persons file for bankruptcy under the bankruptcy code for many years. The firm has successfully represented numerous clients throughout Litchfield County in automobile accidents, wills and estates, Social Security disability claims, small business matters, criminal cases, and divorce and family matters.

We offer a free initial consultation with an experienced attorney on new matters. In workers compensation claims, automobile accidents and Social Security disability cases, there are no attorneys’ fees unless we are successful in collecting compensation for you. In all matters, attorneys’ fees will be discussed up front with you at the initial consultation.
